The education is related to the cultural roots of the Country. For modernization to take place and education to be relevant, it has to derive its base from the cultural roots, said Mr Anand Sancheti, while inaugurating Pratishruti-2019the Annual Cultural Festival at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management. To clarify, he cited the example of pilot less aircrafts in ancient India and compared it with the current driver less cars. He further added that education and knowledge is available everywhere and can be acquired at any time provided one remains focused.

The inauguration took place in the college premises in presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Anand Sancheti, Managing Director, SMS Ltd, Nagpur. The event was presided by Shri. Satynarayan Nuwal, Vice-Chairman RCOEM. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Shri Chandrakantbhai Thakar,Vice-Chairman; Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary, Shri Kailashchandra Agrawal, Secretary; Shri Rajendra Purohit, Secretary, Shri Ashok Kumar Pacheriwala, Treasurer. Also present on the dais were Dr. R.S. Pande, Principal; Dr. Y.M. Sonkhaskar, Dean SRC; Prof. B.M. Hardas, Prof. In-charge, Pratishruti’19, and Mr. Gagan Chordiya, Cultural Secretary, Student Representative Council.

Among others prominently present were Shri Bhagwandas Daga and Shri Padmesh Gupta Executive Members of RCOEM. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp. Dr. Y. M. Sonkhaskar in his opening remark gave the brief description about the motto of Pratishruti. The opening remark was followed by the felicitation of the honorable Chief Guest by the hands of Shri Satynarayan Nuwal.


The dignitaries on the dais and the other members of the staff and students present at the ceremony admired the insightful views of the respected chief guest. Shri Satynarayan Nuwal gave the presidential address. In his address Shri Nuwal stated that with little effort and focus our students can take the country to the next level and prove instrumental in making India vishwaguru. He said that students should look at holistic development and he concluded by suggesting that students should follow the philosophy of simple living and high thinking.

Principal Dr. R. S. Pande presented the gathering with the annual report and the various achievements of the college. Mr. Gagan Chordiya presented the Pratishruti report. The ceremony was concluded with the recital of the National Anthem. The ceremony was compered by Mr. Purvesh Agarwal and Ms. Nancy Tolani while the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Bhagyashree Sahu, Joint Cultural Secretary of SRC.



One Must Go Beyond Duty- Ghanshyam Ahuja

Pratishruti-2019, three day long annual cultural festival of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management concluded with the valedictory function held in the college premises on 1st March 2019.The event was graced by Chief Guest and Alumnus of RCOEM, Mr. Ghanshyam Ahuja, CEO, Copernicus Consulting Pvt Ltd. Singapore, Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary RCOEM presided over the function. Dr.  R. S. Pande, Principal; Dr. S.D. Mohgaonkar, Dean, Second Shift; Dr. Y. M. Sonkhaskar, Dean Students Representative Council (SRC); Prof. B.M Hardas, Professor Incharge Pratishruti 2019, Dr. Amit Anurag; Head, Physical Education and Mr. Gagan Chordiya, Cultural Secretary, SRC were present on the dais. Among others prominently present were Shri Bhagwandas Daga and Shri Suresh Kumar Lohiya Executive Members of RCOEM.

The chief guest being the 1993 silver jubilee batch alumnus of the college shared some experience of his college life which motivated the students. He enlightened the crowd with his address and suggested them to divide their life into four parts namely College, Professional, Personal and Future. He told the students to believe in themselves, develop interpersonal and intrapersonal skills for growth. He suggested students to take initiative and be proactive and have positive orientation towards life.  Mr. Ahuja said that one must go beyond duty in order to be successful. He was of the opinion that the students should read a lot as it helps in developing and growing. He said reading about IOT would be helpful as it is the new Dimension taking shape. In his presidential address Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary applauded students for organizing such a big cultural extravaganza. He advised students not be dependent on computers and gadgets but to develop brain as a computer. Prof. B.M Hardas, Professor Incharge Pratishruti 2019 presented brief report of three day long event. Dr. Y. M. Sonkhaskar, Dean SRC introduced the chief guest. Prizes for the various events held under PRATISHRUTI 2019 as well as for academics and sports activities were handed over by the dignitaries present on the dais.Electronic and Communication Engineering was adjudged as best branch for the year 2018-2019 and received the prestigious “Nityananda” rolling trophy popularly known as the Branch Cup.


Mr. Varun Tiwari and Ms.Aishwarya Mahajan presented the annual report of the NSS for the year 2018-2019. Mr. Shashank  Pahwa and Ms. Samruddhi Khamgaonkar presented the annual sports report.The event was compared by Mr. Arjun Agrawal and Ms Jasmine Jadwani. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Gagan Chordiya.



JASHN 2019 – Let’s Live it Together

Jashn 2019 - Let’s Live it Together, is an event organized by Department of Management Technology (DMT) and  NSS Unit, Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur on 9th February 2019, for specially-abled children and children from orphanages. A full day event was conducted for these children to participate and enjoy. 65 students participated in drawing competition and 82 in dance competition. The program was graced by the presence of–Shri Govind Lalji Agrawal,General Secretary, RCOEM, Dr. Amit Anurag, Head NSS, Dr. Chandan Vichoray - Head, DMT, Dr. Neeta V. Shah, Professor, DMT, Dr. Vishal Mehta, JASHN Coordinator and the judges, during early morning hours. The drawing competition was judged by Dr. Shilpa Arya and Mr. Dipak Pachang. The age groups for Drawing competition, held in the morning were - 5-8 years, 9-11 years, 12 years and above. The Cultural Program, including Dance Competition, Drama and Fashion Show was held in the evening.

The dignitaries present during the evening function were Dr. Amit Anurag, Head NSS, Dr. Chandan Vichoray - Head, DMT, Dr. Neeta V. Shah, Professor, DMT, Dr. Vishal Mehta, Program Coordinator and Judges of the competition and other faculty members of the DMT. This competition was judged by Smt. Vandana Vyas and Smt. Renu Mahajan. The event was compered by Mr. Ashay Lanjewar, Mr. Ayush Mate, Ms. Milee Pillai, and Ms. Richa Sharma for the Cultural Event. Children from Bal Sadan, Katol Square, won Drama Special Prize. The Children from Shri Kisan Muk Badhir gave Special Performance and won the hearts and applause from the audience. This was followed by a Fashion Show. The theme was to bring different Cultures, within India, on the stage and their Togetherness. The Children from Jeevan Ashray Ashram, Bal Sadan, Shri Kisan Muk Badhir, Yuvajyoti and Sunshine participated in the event. As the evening unraveled, there was a special performance by the Music Group of Department of Management Technology, for these children.

For this Event, the organizing team executed a successful scrap collection campaign collecting approximately 8 tons of scrap. JASHN aims to provide these children with life-enhancing skills by the medium of workshops which will be conducted in the forthcoming months. A team of about 40 students was involved in making the event successful. The students visited different orphanages/ schools and conducted dance workshops for these children.
