Dignitaries unveiling NEEV 17 Souvenir at the Valedictory Function

The Civil Engineering Department of Shri Ramdeobaba College Of Engineering and Management organized NEEV- A technical extravaganza, it aims to provide a platform for civil engineering students to enhance their technical skills and to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and practical application. The Advancement of construction industry has opened up many new business avenues for civil engineering fraternity. NEEV’17 was organized in the view to promote ‘Sustainable Infrastructure Development in Civil Engineering’.

 Five major technical events were organized namely MAD-4-CAD (an event to test the AutoCAD skills of participants), Elevate (a mock recruitment competition), Elucidation (a technical paper presentation), Buildcon (a bridge making and testing competition), Town-o-planner (town planning event); all these events covered various aspects of construction and building and other technical knowledge of Civil Engineering industry.

 Workshop on "Sustainable Infrastructure Development in Civil Engineering "was conducted on 15th and 16thSeptember, 2017. The major focus of the workshop was on areas like Sustainable and intelligent transport system, sustainable planning, sustainable materials, geo techniques and environment etc.                                                                                               

Mr. P Guru Raju (AGM, AFCONS, Pvt. Ltd) was the chief guest for the inaugural function, Dr. R. S. Pande (Principal, RCOEM), Dr. M.S. Kadu (HOD, Civil), Dr. A. K. Sharma (Advisor CESA) Prof P. D. Hiwase (Professor In-charge, CESA) were also present for the inaugural function.

Mr. P Guru Raju conducted a session on Proactive planning for accelerated construction - Ganga Bridge - A case study.

Dr. Ritesh Vijay(Senior Scientist ,NEERI) conducted a session on Sustainable Liquid Waste Management , Dr. Tarun Shrivastava gave a motivational speech, Dr. Rahul Ralegaonkar (Asst. Professor, VNIT) focussed on the topic of Sustainable Building Material, Dr. Shirish Deo (Prof, NIT Raipur) emphasized on the topic of Sustainable Concrete & Dr. A. K. Sharma conducted seminar on Sustainable Development in Transport Engineering were present for the event as the guest speakers.

The event was concluded with the release of Souvenir of NEEV 2017 & a Valedictory function was held to felicitate all the winners in different events of NEEV17 at the hands of Mr. Ashok Harwani (Sr. Manager, WCL), the Chief Guest for the Valedictory function.

Over 500 students from central India participated in the various event & workshop. The department and the association are grateful to the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. M. S. Kadu for his overall support.


RCOEM Alumni Bring Laurels in IES Exam 2017

Felicitation of Mr. Lohit Yadav, 1st All India Rank holder in  IES 2017 (Mechanical Engineering) at the hands of Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary, RCOEM

Besides, providing excellent technical education, RCOEM provides guidance and encouragement to the students for their all round development. The college also inculcates high values of patriotism and nation building. These were the words of Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary RCOEM who was speaking in the special function organised in the college to felicitate Mr. Lohit Kumar Yadav, the 1st All India Rank holder in IES examination (Mechanical Engineering) conducted in 2017. It is probably for the first time that a student from private engineering college has topped the list of successful candidates in IES exams. Mr. Saurabh Chitlange who secured 43rd All India Rank in the same exam was also felicitated on the occasion.

Both the students have completed their graduation in Mechanical Engineering from RCOEM.  Dr. R.S.Pande the Principal of the college appreciated the success of the students and said that it will motivate other students of the college to take up All India Exams such as IES, IAS etc..... It gives a chance to the students to utilise their technical and managerial skills for the nation and society.

While replying the felicitation Mr. Lohit Kumar Yadav expressed his gratitude to the college and Department of Mechanical engineering for fostering positive attitude, effective study habits and sound technical foundation in him. He said that it is necessary that more and more students from Nagpur should appear for All India Exams as it will offer them a rewarding career. He further added that he made his own strategy to prepare for the exam. He read the interviews of those who had cracked the exams before him.  Regular meditation and Yoga helped him to concentrate on studies and saved him from stress.  For last couple of years he remained away from social media.

The success of Mr. Saurabh Chitlange is sure to motivate many. He said that there is no need for the students to lose hope even if they get setbacks in life.

RTMNU has awarded Dr Rajesh Pande, Principal of RCOEM as the Best Principal.

Dr. Rajesh Pande, Principal of Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management was felicitated as Best Principal during Teacher’s Day function of RTMNU at Guru Nanak Bhavan at the hands of Chief guest Dr. Vikas Mahatme, VC Dr. S P Kane, Pro-VC Dr. Pramod Yeole and Registrar Puran Meshram.

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has adjudged Dr Rajesh Pande, Principal of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) as the Best Principal. Dr Pande was honoured during a programme organized to mark the Teacher’s Day on September 5, at Guru Nanak Bhavan, RTMNU campus.

RCOEM  received not one but two honours -- Best Principal Award and Best Teacher (Social Worker) award conferred upon Prof B M Hardas, Assistant Professor in Electronics engineering, RCOEM. Padma Shree and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Vikas Mahatme was the chief guest while Vice-Chancellor of RTMNU Dr S P Kane  presided over. Dr Pramod Yeole, Pro-Vice Chancellor, RTMNU,  grace the event. Management, faculty and staff members of RCOEM congratulated Dr. R.S.Pande and Prof. B.M.Hardas for this achievement

RCOEM Sanskrit Centre Inauguration

Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering & Management has been approved as Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Centre of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. New Delhi. This scheme is only for colleges where Sanskrit Language is not taught. Total 51 such centers has been started in country. RCOEM is one of them. RCOEM Sanskrit center has been inaugurated on 28th August 2017 at the hands of noted Sanskrit scholar Dr. Chandragupta Warnekar. Shri Govindlal ji Agarwal, General Secretary RCOEM, presided over the function. Dr. S.D.Mohgaokar, Dean ( Second shift), Prof. B.M.Hardas, nodal officer of the centre and Prof. Chandramohan Goyal, expert faculty appointed by HRD ministry were prominently present. About 40 students, faculty and staff members are learning Sanskrit in different batches right from 6.30 am to 6.30pm.


Independence Day

On the auspicious occasion of 71st Independence Day, there was zealous celebrations organised on the grounds of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering & Management, Nagpur by college management committee and NSS Unit of RCOEM. The programme started with Flag Hoisting at 9:30 A.M. by the hands of Hon'ble Chief Guest Shri. Chandrakantbhai Thakar (Vice-Chairman, Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti) in the august presence of Shri. Govindlalji Agrawal (General Secretary, Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti ) , Dr. R.S Pande (Principal, SRCOEM) along with staff and students of the College.

Flag Hoisting was followed by National Anthem, and then Chief Guest enlightened the staff and students about importance of freedom with his motivational speech. Various acts were performed by Music club , Dance club and Drama Club. The celebrations reflected India's struggle for freedom, achievements after freedom in the sector of Agriculture , Science and Technology along with the plight of Naxalism. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Miss. Shrutika Patel (Secretary, NSS Unit) along with distribution of sweets.

Gyanodaya-2017, an induction programme for the newly admitted first year students was held at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management on 5th August, 2017. Following the Indian cultures and values, the event began with the traditional lightening of the lamp. The event was graced by the auspicious presence of Rev. Swami Brahmasthananda; President of Ramkrishna math, Nagpur and also the Vice Chairman Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, RCOEM; Shri Govindlalji Agarwal, General Secretary, RCOEM; Shri Kailashchand Agrawal and Shri  Rajendra Purohit, Secretaries, RCOEM; Shri Ashok Kumar Pacheriwala, Treasurer, RCOEM; Dr. R. S. Pande; Principal, RCOEM, Prof. S.H. Deshmukh; Dean SRC and Prof. Prachi A. Saoji; First Year In-charge, RCOEM.

Dr. Y.M. Sonkhaskar introduced Swami Brahmasthanandaji, the chief guest of the function. Swamiji threw light upon the importance of real knowledge of working for mankind and character building. He also stressed on following the path of Swami Vivekanada and work for the betterment of humanity.

Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal addressed students and asserted upon the importance of hardwork and ethics.   He also stated that the College is ragging free and has various disciplinary cells like the anti-ragging and anti-harassment cell.

Dr. R. S. Pande, Principal RCOEM gave the opening remark stressing on the glories and achievements of RCOEM and also gave importance about academics and examinations. He also introduced about the offers and opportunities for UG and PG courses and informed about the autonomy.

Mr. Sanghpal Wasnik, the Joint Cultural Secretary, SRC, delivered the Vote of thanks and the event was compeered by Mr. Nihal Kashyap and Ms. Sanjana Nandy.


The College continued with its winning streak for the third consecutive year by winning one of the top positions in the Annual College Magazine Competition held by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Arceon’16 was awarded the 2nd prize in a high profile function held at Gurunanak Bhawan of RTMNU on the ‘Vardhapan Din’ of the University held on 4th August 2017. The Magazine team was felicitated by the Chief Guest for the function, Dr S P Kane, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of RTMNU and Dr Yeole, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor of RTMNU. The prize comprised a cash prize of Rs.5000 and a certificate.

The theme of Arceon’16 was ‘Startups’ that carried features of different successful start-ups initiated by College students. The magazine was entirely designed by the students of the magazine committee including the main cover and the section covers. The editors for the Arceon’16 magazine were Mihir Raichura, Rashmi Naidu and Shirin Chimthanawala and faculty coordinators were Dr Deepshikha Mehra, Dr Gayathri Band, Prof Pratishruti Singh and Prof Vandana Gandhi.

The Workshop on Aptitude Development (WAD) a seven day workshop was inaugurated at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur on 3rd July 2017.The chief guest of the function was Dr. P.G. Yeole, Pro Vice Chancellor, R.T.M.N.U.Shri Rajendra Purohit, Secretary RCOEM, Shri Govindlal Agarwal, General Secretary RCOEM, Dr. R.S. Pande, Principal RCOEM and Dr. Rashmi Shahu, Convener WAD were present on the dais.

Over 200 delegates from various colleges like IIIT Nagpur, D.Y.Patil College of Engineering Mumbai, Terna College, Mumbai, National Law University Delhi, Manipal University, BIT, Durg and different colleges from Nagpur participated in the workshop. In her opening remark Dr. Rashmi Shahu, Convener WAD, said that the aim of such an endeavor was to explore excellence within an individual to help him reach to highest altitude. Dr. R.S Pande, Principal RCOEM, welcomed the chief guest Dr. P.G.Yeole. He also appreciated such kind of workshops and emphasized on the need to expand them on a local level. Quoting the famous autobiography of Jack Well, He said that our problem is instead of thinking mediocre and achieving it, we should think high and have high ambitions. Dr. R.S. Pande also stated that such kind of workshops prove to be helpful in placement procedure.

Dr. P.G.Yeole, in his inaugural address enlightened the audience with his inspiring words on the importance of presentation of individual’s personality and character. He also shared his views on job interviews and gave a few tips on the same. He explained the difference between aptitude and attitude relating it with sharpening the acquired skills and developing the inbuilt skills. Giving the famous concept of three mothers Dr Yeole said that our first mother is the biological mother, the second one is the teacher and the third one is our profession. Dr. Yeole also spoke about 3 D’s,that should have in every student’s life i.e. Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Shri Govindlal Agarwal in his presidential address spoke about how Engineers are leaders of the world, He also said that every student should learn to change oneself and accept others. He assured the delegates that this 7 day workshop will give a life time learning to all the participants
